3 Ingredient Recipes: Toffee Recipe

Rupert would like a sweet treat, so we’re making a candy classic: Toffee! Toffee is sweet, buttery, with a caramel flavor and a crisp, crunchy snap to it. This toffee can be topped with chocolate, but it’s also just fine all on its own. And as always, it’s only 3 ingrediets!

Toffee
Ingredients:
1 cup white granulated sugar
1 cup butter (or margarine)
1/4 cup water
Melt all ingredients together in a saucepan until boiling, then reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300 degrees Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer or until a drop of the mixture in a glass of cold water is hard and cracks. The mixture should have a deep amber color. Pour mixture in one thin layer into a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or nonstick aluminum foil. If you’d like to add a chocolate layer on top, spread chocolate chips on top and melt, then spread evenly over toffee mixture. Cool completely in fridge or at room temperature.
