In the mood for an ice cream sundae but don’t have any caramel sauce? You’re in luck! It only takes about 5 minutes and ingredients you probably have in your kitchen already, plus a microwave to make a delicious, easy caramel sauce that can go over ice cream over cake, or however else you might want to serve it.
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe container and then stir in the other two ingredients. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Keep microwaving in 15 second increments, stirring in between, until you reach the desired consistency. Serve immediately or store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
