Szechuan Sauce Recipe (McDonald’s Inspired): 3 Ingredient Recipes

Recently, McDonald’s announced that they were re-releasing the Szechuan Sauce that was originally released when the movie “Mulan” premiered, all due to the cartoon “Rick & Morty.” Some fans of the show (or the sauce) have been disappointed when they visited McDonald’s on the release date and they were out of Szechuan Sauce, so I thought we’d make our own version of the McDonald’s version of this classic sauce (not traditional Szechuan Sauce, which is a bit hotter and less sweet), and just as a bonus, we are making TWO versions of the sauce, just to show that you can find many ways of interpreting a recipe.

Szechuan Sauce (Version One):
Ingredients

1.5 tsp. Korean Gochujang sauce
1 tsp. ginger-infused balsamic vinegar
1 tstp. soy sauce

Szechuan Sauce (Version Two):
Ingredients

1.5 tsp. thick Teriyaki sauce
3/4 tsp. hot sesame oil
1 tsp. rice vinegar

For both sauces, combine ingredients and serve. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
