Steve is here with a big bag of walnuts, so we thought up an easy, delicious treat that uses walnuts and honey. Walnuts in honey is a specialty treat that’s often sold in the deli section of high end grocery stores, and it can be super-expensive, but our version is just as delicious and much more affordable. Plus, it’s only 3 ingredients!
Walnuts in Honey
Ingredients
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup honey
1/2 cup walnut oil
Toast the walnuts in a dry pan or in the oven until they smell nutty. Let cool and set aside.
Combine the honey and oil and mix until smooth and silky. Fold in the walnuts and pour into covered container. Let sit, refrigerated, for a few days for the walnuts to soften a bit. Keeps in refrigeration for up to a month or can be preserved by canning for up to 6 months.
